This session aims at improving static and dynamic balance and, more globally, at preventing falls. You will work on proprioception, meaning your ability to feel your body in space, and your muscular strength, which will allow you to react with more ease to environment disturbances such as uneven grounds or obstacles, which could cause loss of balance. With Neuro Balance, you will increase your confidence to move freely!

Prerequisites:

Being able to stand up for at least 1 minute with or without support

Adapted boxing

This workout is perfect to improve your coordination, strength and speed. You will learn basic boxing techniques, which stimulate physical and cognitive abilities. This workout aims to improve your walk efficiency. You will learn the Nordic walking technique, a practice that stimulates the upper and lower body. The training includes endurance, speed and coordination exercises that will contribute to a more efficient walk and a better physical condition. With this walking training, your posture and your gait will be greatly improved, which will help prevent falls and make you feel stronger and confident on a daily basis. Join the group to walk better, longer and have fun!

Being able to walk independently with or without technical assistance

Walking poles (provided, but bring your own if you have them)

Neuro Strenght

This session aims to make you stronger. These strength exercises will help slow down muscle decline associated with aging and sedentarity. The solicitation of different muscle groups will help you maintain your independence by making it easier to accomplish your daily tasks such as getting up from a chair or the toilet, carrying objects and going up and down the stairs. With Neuro Strength, keep independence and move with ease!

 

Content of the session:

  • Exercises in a seated and/or a standing position
  • Strength exercises performed with a load (rubber band, weights, etc.)
  • Exercises for upper body, core and lower body

 

Prerequisites:

None (possibility of doing all the exercises in a seated position)

Equipment requirement:

Chair, Elastics (Theraband style), Free weights (dumbbell, water bottle, food can)
